If you would like to know more about how the use of space can benefit your dancing, this workshop is for you! Senior Teacher Countertechnique Niharika Senapati will share her love for space in this explorative workshop. Departing from spatial analysis and specific movement tasks, you will be introduced to hands-on tools from the Countertechnique Toolbox, that help increase spatial awareness in dancing. After working in an improvisation setting, you will transport these findings to exercises from a Countertechnique class.
Niharika Senapati has been working as a dancer with Chunky Move/Anouk van Dijk between 2012 - 2018, and works as Anouk's choreographic assistant internationally. Niharika has an active independent performance practice and composes her own music.
Maximum participants: 40. Participants are accepted on a first come first serve basis. This workshop is open to all levels.
The workshop will take place from 9 - 11 am on June 8 - 11 in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). This makes the workshop easily acccessible for dancers in Australia, United States, Canada and New Zealand; due to the time difference this workshop is less suitable for dancers located in Europe and Asia. This is a workshop series, which means the workshop is designed for participants who can attend all 4 sessions in the workshop; you're not able to register for individual sessions.
